Nobody wears a neck brace in District 12...

Well Spring Break is officially over. Not that it really changed my routine any because I still had to work and had many homework assignments. My daughter however was a different story, she actually had a vacation away from her busy eight year old routine of school, ballet classes and tutoring so getting her out of bed this morning was a chore.  She is such a princess.

Aside from my school and real estate job I spent most of last week in a neck brace. Let me tell you, that 800CARWRECK brace really put a crimp in my style.  The ironic thing is that I was actually attacked years ago by an 18 wheeler and I should have called that dang number but didn’t, and now at the ripe old age of 34 my neck injury from that accident has returned to haunt me.  Listen closely young people, getting old is hard. Enjoy your life while you are young and able bodied and if you are ever in an accident with a big rig don’t sign a form saying you won’t sue them later on in life.  Trust me on this one.

I did manage a little fun the weekend before the doctor slapped a neck brace on me and put me on bed rest.  Grace, Jesse and I took a daytrip to Queen Wilhelmina Mountain in Mena. If you have never been you really should go. My child who doesn’t seem interested in anything unless it is electronic actually had fun just sightseeing, we left the DSI, Kindle Fire, & IPOD at home and she didn’t even ask for them. That spoke volumes to me!

My other treat for the week was getting to have GIRL movie night and going to watch the Hunger Games! The movie was fantastic, for real folks. Even if you haven’t read the book/books go see it.  And eat lots of buttery movie theatre popcorn. Nom Nom!!

Today seemed like a good day to expand my social circle... All this neverending rain has me a bit stir-crazy!

For those that don't know me, I am Jennifer. Mom to Grace, girlfriend to Jesse, friend to many, Office Manager for a real estate company and full-time college student. My plate is really full, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I grew up in Friendship Arkansas with the best parents ever... and since I was adopted, I knew that God really took a part in picking them out for me! I graduated high school from Ouachita, a school that is small in size but big in heart. It took a few years for me to figure out which path to take, but I finally feel secure that I am on the right road in education. I love people and I love teaching and I love the thought of being a part of enriching the lives of others.

In the middle of my Path-Confusion, I was sent the best gift of all - my daughter Grace. She is 8 years old, silly, and loving. She keeps me focused... most of the time! I hope that all the sacrifices I am making now will pay off for both of us in the very near future. And that she will be proud of her mom for all the sacrifices that we have both had to make.

It is hard finding the balance between parenting, school and work. Sometimes I feel like I have too many balls in the air, and I am hoping this blog will help me to realize what I am accomplishing in my life on a day to day basis and will help me to keep my thoughts a little more organized! If that is possible... LOL!

Hopefully you, dear reader, will see things that I might have missed and can help guide me in the right direction!
